Reservation!...but...why?

In my 20 years of life one thing that made a quite impact on my mind is the word "RESERVATION".I started thinking of it when I entered the EAMCET counseling centre. The first question on my mind was, what is the need for RESERVATION ?

For instance if we consider the EAMCET ,an entrance exam into engineering and medical fields. The councelling is done on the rank basis. That means merit of the student is important to provide a seat to him/her but not the CASTE. A UPPER CASTE student who gets a rank 2000 or below can't find a better seat in UNIVERSITY COLLEGES but a LOWER CASTE student who gets a 50000 rank or even more will be finding the best seat in one of the best Universities. Also the "COST OF AN APPLICATION FORM" differs from caste to caste. So is the procedure in case of women. Also in case of government jobs or any other jobs the merit of a candidate takes the main role then, what is the need for caste and RESERVATION?

Here, I am not saying that reservation should be eliminated, but it should be provided for the right persons, in right way and with a right cause, like for Handicapped persons. Neither all LOWER CASTE people are POOR nor are all the UPPER CASTE PEOPLE RICH. I am not blaming the constitution for this because at the time when constitution was being written, most of the LOWER CASTE people were really poor and were not given proper status and opportunities in the society, but it is not the case in present days. I feel very bad that in past they were ill-treated by the uncultured educated people which are still going on in some remote villages. For this GOVERNMENT should take the required measures. The political parties just for their personal favor draw the attention of the LOWER CASTE people and WOMEN by making them the main part of their agenda to win the elections. This should be stopped.

So my request is provide reservation to the people who are BACKWARD FINANCIALLY i.e., who are below the POVERTY LINE level but not to the people who are BACKWARD by CASTE. Here also reservation in the sense is to provide it in the form of some financial aid or scholarships. And for women there is no need for any reservation in case of studies, as now-a-days they are the emerging power of the nation. But I do accept there should be reservation in some cases like making the WOMEN and BACKWARD CLASS people to take part in elections and in some other cases where they should be given opportunity to prove them, which is not happening in most cases.
One thing that I want to clarify is that neither I am against any caste, creed or any other section of people nor I want to hurt any ones feelings and if any one thinks that I am doing so forgive me. No one is strong or weak in any case, every one should be given equal importance and oppurtunity.

"THE FIRST PERSON WHO WISHES TO ELIMINATE THE WORDS CASTE & RESERVATION NOT ONLY FROM THE CONSTITUTION & APPLICATION FORMS IN VARIOUS FIELDS BUT ALSO FROM THE MINDS OF THE PEOPLE IN INDIA WOULD BE MYSELF."

Fanaa...... Destroyed in Love

“Tere Dil Mein Meri Saanson Ko Panaah Mil Jaaye, Tere Ishq Mein Meri Jaan Fanaa Ho Jaaye.”

"To choose one between a wright and wrong is simple....but if you have to choose the better of two right (ways)things or the less effective one between two wrong (ways) things, then thats really tough, but thats what you have to do in life."
These are the two lines that one would remember after watching the movie. Saw this movie yesterday, so though of starting with it. The first half of the movie was reall good with all the shayaris from amir khan and also with charming Kajol. The second half was a bit dissapointment with the kashmir issue and terrorism. This is a kind of movie which will leave you with mixed reactions.
The shayaris that I liked in this movie are:
1. "Humse dhoor jaavoge kaise....Dilse humein bulavoge kaise....
Hum woh Khushboo hain jho saanson mein basthe hain
Khud ki saason ko rokh pavonge kaise...."
2. "Kehthe hain ki pyaar hone se neendh ud jaathi hain...
... koi humse bhi pyar kare
aaj kal ye khambakhth neendh jyaada aathi hain..."

Fanaa is a story of a beautiful Kashmiri girl, Zooni (Kajol Devgan), who is blind and her love, Rehan (Aamir Khan), who plays a tour guide. Zooni is quite and calm. On the other hand, Rehan is fun and vivacious. The two meet in Delhi and Zooni falls in love with Rehan and tells him how she feels about him. At this time, she notices that Rehan is reluctant in revealing his feeling about her. She pleads him to forgive him of any mistake that she might have made and finally, the two come together. Rehan and Zooni decide to get married with the blessings of Zooni’s parents (Rishi Kapoor and Kirron Kher).

Just then, they find out that Zooni can be operated and can get her eyesight back. Zooni is immediately operated and gets her eyesight back and is happy to finally see her parents and the world. But when she wants to see Rehan, he’s not there. Where is he? Is he missing or dead? Does he have another side to him that he’s afraid to reveal? The movie goes on to answer these questions and much more.
